Transportation
AKA has conducted geotechnical investigations for an extensive portfolio of transportation projects throughout the Bay Area involving the construction and repair of new roads and highways. Investigations have been conducted for geotechnical design and materials reports and landslide repairs.
Utilities
AKA has conducted geotechnical investigations for a number of utility companies including PG&E, Exxon, and Stege. Because utilities must remain operational during earthquake shaking, detailed subsurface characterization and seismic evaluation is often a key component in the design process.
Communication
AKA has performed geo-engineering and consulting services for various clients involving the construction of communication towers, satellite dishes, and television broadcasting towers. Typically these projects involve evaluating slope stability, designing for high wind loads, and deep foundation alternatives.
